So today, we sat down and did the math, and as much as we loved the various contributions from fans that helped build our little Redbubble, we came to the conclusion that it would be more judicious to close it at this point. The profit from it, which is what goes to the fund, is too small in comparison with how much the donors invest if we also consider the shipping costs... So to make sure we're doing it right, we are now going to stick to direct donations (maybe raffles too) and our Fabrily store that has been a very good choice so far! Here's the last summary from Redbubble (the total is be to transferred as a donation once paid): - June and Sara.
From the very start, we have tried to be as creative as possible when it comes to how funds can be raised...
The first and obvious way is of course donations, which go directly to the Malala Fund and can even already be used by them. Other than that, there's the Fabrily store and the Redbubble store. Lately, two artists also pledged to donate the earnings from their own fan art merch stores to the fund! So if you want to contribute, what is the most efficient way? 1-Donations: Everything you donate goes directly and entirely to the fund, it is the means that has raised the most so far. 2-The Fabrily store: The profit from the tees, jumpers and hoodies is the best (It's currently between $8 and $12 per item). Generally speaking, the more people buy a design, the better the per item profit becomes! So it is definitely the second best way to help! 3-Redbubble: Whether it's our own account, or the ones belonging to the artists who pledged to donate what they earn until Harry's birthday, profits here are between 20% and 25% of the price which means a couple of dollars for a mug or a throw pillow, and up to $6.5 for a phone case... So that is the 3rd option! :) Whichever way you choose, thank you very much for donating, it will help an underprivileged girl access to education and transform her entire life! -June Only 9 items sold so lower per item profit on these ones... We are now working harder then ever on hopefully reaching better sales for more money to go to the fund.
The initial goal on this campaign was 40 items, with a benefit of $13 each. But as we only sold 6 items, the profit was recalculated by Fabrily (see the email), which explains why it is lower than on the other campaigns... -J

How we proceed. As explained in the "DONATE" page, donations go directly to the Malala fund. As for sales, you will find here explanations of the process and summaries of the benefits as given by the websites we use: Fabrily, Teespring and (previously) Redbubble! We transfer all the profits to the fund by making a donation to our fundraising page. Categories |
